A Message from our CJP Executive Director

It was over six years ago that I was introduced to Shalom Park, and the Charlotte Jewish Preschool (CJP), for the first time.  I walked into the halls of the CJP and within minutes I   realized what a special and unique place it was; and I couldn't wait to be a part of it.

Before my introduction to CJP, I had over eight years of teaching experience in the public school system where I held various chair and team leadership positions including grade level   chair and team leadership positions including grade level chair person, International Baccalaureate Implementation Team, School Leadership Team where I participated in strategic planning for our school, as well as Response to Intervention Team.  I hold a M.S. in Elementary Education along with a certification in Special Education.

In 2010 I joined the CJP family as the Assistant Director.  Working in early childhood was new, challenging, exciting, and the place where I felt at home.  Honestly, I fell in love with     early childhood and CJP at the same time.  Over the years my passion for early childhood development led me to primarily focus on early intervention, professional development for teachers, and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.  My position evolved into the Director of Education for the 2015 school year.  Today, as the Executive Director, I am honored to lead such an extraordinary group of teachers, to serve our beautiful children and families, and be a part of such a strong Jewish community.

CJP has a commitment to develop our children into knowledgeable, caring, giving, responsible, self-confident, and inquisitive learners who exemplify Judaic values, specifically kavod (respect), kehilla (community), and kimud (learning).  These Jewish values and many more are at the forefront of who we are, how we work together to accomplish our goals, and what we strive to instill within our children, families, and staff; thus creating a culture that we are proud of.
